Requesting the impossible

I can’t remember if it was in a prior post or a comment I made on Facebook that I referred to Isis as the root goddess.

I call her this because all aspects of the goddess reside in Isis.  This unique make-up as well as the fact she knows the secret name of Ra makes her capable of doing something only a very select number of goddesses can; at her discretion, she can grant an impossible request.

Prior to agreeing to do so for you, Isis in her great wisdom will consider two things.  The first is whether you’ve done everything you mentally, physically and spiritually are able to do to bring about the result you desire.  As a loving mother, she understands that you will not respect or properly take full advantage of an impossible gift unless you’ve first given your all to obtain it.

Her other consideration will be whether granting you your impossible request will cause harm to anyone.  Though Isis realises there is a time for aggressive magick, she won’t, except under extremely rare circumstances, allow you to combine it with an impossible request; the possible ramifications would be too great.

Impossible requests should be rare and for objects or situations that you absolutely can’t do without.  For when these times do occur, the following magickal working will guarantee that Isis will hear you out and be more open to working with you.

What you will need:

• A piece of snake skin
• 3 feathers from a small bird
• Small bowl of milk
• 2 tablespoons of honey
• Cauldron or another vessel safe to burn objects in
• 3 petals from a dead sunflower
• A tablespoon of sage
• A black candle
• Enough sunflower oil with sage mixed in to anoint the candle

What you do:

• Add a pinch of sage to a small amount of sunflower oil and use to anoint the candle.  As you anoint it, mentally picture your request as already answered and how it will affect you.  Take your time and make sure to envision everything as if you were watching it happen in front of you right now.  Don’t put yourself in the vision.  You must be the present observer.
• Light the candle thanking Isis for considering your request
• Add the honey to a small bowl of milk, set it beside the candle and invite Isis to draw near and partake of your gift
• Light a charcoal in your cauldron and burn the snakeskin, the three feathers, the three sunflower petals and the tablespoon of sage.  As you do say something like the following:
  • Isis, possessor of the sacred name of Ra, I offer these objects to honour you and gain your ear.With snake venom, you tricked Ra into revealing his sacred name so you could wield his power.  When you wish to observe events without anyone noticing, you often take the form of a bird.  Sage represents the impossible request I ask you to grant.To my knowledge I’ve done all I can to bring it about and I’ve determined with what knowledge I possess that granting this will harm no one.If I’ve overlooked anything, please let me know.  If not, please grant this request as quick as it is safe to do so.

• Burn the candle all the way
• Pour the milk/honey mixture into a plant
• Put your request out of your mind.  Isis will show you more steps to take, grant your request or refuse your request because it would harm someone.
