I wasn’t going to sign up for any reading challenges this year. Although I’m a book worm through and through, I didn’t think I’d have enough time to properly commit to reading. Last year, it seemed I was only grabbing a few minutes reading in bed before the book would fall from my hands and hit me on the head. Surprisingly though, I still managed to get through quite a few books.
Let me see. These are the books I read (or can remember reading) in 2011:

There are other non-fiction books I read including a couple of ghost books, a book on shamanism, several Erich von Daniken books and one by Colin Wilson but the names escape me now. Then there are all the witchy and magic books I flick through but don’t read cover to cover.
As I wasn’t as rubbish reading as I thought, I’ve decided to join Magaly’s Pagan Culture Witchy Books Reading Challenge and The Domestic Pagan’s 2012 Pagan Reading Challenge.
I’m currently reading Dexter in the Dark, which does have a good supernatural element to it, and First Night by Gabriel J. Klein. Then I’ve got Garden Spells on my ‘next to read’ list. Oh, so many books, so little time.
I live near the sea in the south of England, but I dream of living in the country with sheep and cows for neighbours. I write, blog, craft, and feed my terrible tarot addiction. I love the magical, mystical and spiritual side of life, and believe everyone should let their inner magical sparkle shine!
So with the first reading challenge what kind of books have witches in them? I feel like she is looking for us to read fiction witchy tales. Is this it?
The first two books in my fiction list have witches in them, as does the series written by Kim Harrison. Terry Pratchett also includes some witches. Apart from Kim Harrison (totally hooked), I don't go out of my way to look for books with witch protagonists. Should be fun, though, to include a few more
