I’m so excited to be part of the Practical Magic blog party. Woo hoo!
I watched the movie for a second time a couple of weeks ago with my husband (I’m going to read the book too) and there’s no part of the film I didn’t enjoy. What do you write about if it’s all so good?
I love the house… who wouldn’t dream of living on Maria’s Island in that gorgeous, big house?
I love the characters… they’re the sisters and aunts I’ve never had.
I love the shop… what witch wouldn’t wish for a shop like Verbena?
I also love the aunt’s Book of Shadows.
This is the book of shadows of my dreams. I could imagine spending hours lost in the beauty and wisdom contained on the pages. So I’m going to make one… eventually.
I’ve been busy creating and putting together a party goody bag for you. You can download 3 Practical Magic inspired blank Book of Shadows pages and one page with the lyrics from the Stevie Nicks song Crystal which was featured in the film. All pages feature the movie’s tag line ‘there’s a little witch in every woman’.

I love that film and even own the dvd. And last night it was on tv here! I must have seen it about a dozen times now. They could have done with fewer toads though: they gross me out!

These are beautiful! Thank you so much for making them – AND posting them! I found a website the other day that sells a reproduction BoS from the movie. It looked really cool, and made me think I need to rewatch it since I couldn’t for the life of me remember the book! I haven’t seen it since it was in the theater. It’s on Amazon, though, so I need to watch it today!
I don’t know WHY it’s taken me SO LONG to navigate your page, Lyn. These are gorgeous, clever, awesome! And what a sweetheart you are to share these things with everyone …. Practical Magic is one of my all time favorite movies! I loved it when the detective asks Sally if they killed James and she says, “Oh yeah, a couple of times!” LOL Life is magical … thank you for reminding me through this blog that we can make EVERY DAY magical ….
