A Long Week

Published on July 31, 2010, by in Confessions.

This week has been an emotional roller coaster for me.  I should have had an inkling when I couldn’t face the changing room mirrors last week (thank you for all your kind comments btw – it’s good to know I’m not alone).  So when I got a very ambiguous email from my ex husband on Monday night requesting a meeting on Wednesday (just before he was due to take my sons to Spain for 2 1/2 weeks) it sort of sent my emotions in a frenzy again.  Why do things like this always happen to coincide with moon times?  Anyone else notice that?

Anyway, when he wants to talk it’s never about anything good. It wasn’t this time either.  I won’t go into details here but I’ve been really upset and emotional this week.  Hence the lack of blogging for the past few days.

I’ve spent some time this afternoon booking hotels.  We’re heading off to Yorkshire tomorrow, spending 2 nights near York then we’re going near Huddersfield for a night.  I might book a couple of more nights but I’m going to do that when we’re away (thank Goddess for dongles).

I love booking hotels and holidays – I sit there with maps, attraction books and my laptop.  Paul thinks I’m really geeky (he’s right) but it’s something I enjoy doing.  I had places at several universities to read Travel & Tourism Management (with French) but I gave them up to be with my ex.  Ironically, he then dumped me (for the first time) but I’d already declined my places.

If I don’t make it back to my blog in the next few days have a wonderful Lammas.  Eats lots of bread for me because I’ll be on a long, long drive up north!

  1. -hugs- Sorry to hear about this. If you happen to be near Farnborough you're always welcome to pop in for cup of tea and a hug. Hope the situation improves.

  2. Oh you so deserve a "Bridget Jones' Diary" vacation/break and I know the area you'll be going to, gorgeous! Celebrate Lammas, forget about the "ex" or as "The Soprano's" would say "fugghedboutit"! I'm glad you're going on this break and I'll look forward to pictures and stories ; )

Dear Lyn, so sorry to hear about your cad of an ex popping up and raining trouble on your head. I knew that something really had you out of sorts this week, as I've barely heard a peep from you, and usually we exchange e-mails quickly (you probably do the same thing with dozens of people, you sweetie!!). I SO wish I could help…I know some "bad news" people myself and sometimes it's all I can do to not make a "voodoo doll" and start sticking pins in, heeheehee…all I CAN really offer is my understanding and sincere wishes for the ongoing situation to greatly improve for you permanently! Remember, there is nothing more important or lasting in the Universe than *love*, and you are spilling over with it, and ARE loved by so many!! Blessings, sweet sister in the Goddess and God…Charla

  4. Deep breathe- chocolate and wine-

Have fun! I'll be making corn fritters with dinner for Llamas- and I'll eat one for you

A dongle is the USB stick thingy you put into your laptop and it gives you internet access. That's the theory. My dongle often has other plans.
