Birthday update

This week (so far) has felt like about a month crammed into 3 days. I’ve long since given up expecting ‘normal’ but just sometimes that would be nice :-)

We’ve had sickness (mine), emergency DIY store trips, a blocked drain and plumber experience, passport renewals, garden decking repair, lack of sleep due to freaky dreams and now all 3 kids are suffering from cold symptoms but each one has something different (snotty nose, sore throat and an earache).

With all this going on I haven’t had time to look at the photos I took at the weekend when it was my birthday!! I actually feel very blessed to be writing because for the longest time (like about 10 years now) I never thought I’d get past my 36th year.  So turning 37 was quite nice.

Paul bought me the wonderful Fairy Tale Tarot by Lisa Hunt which I LOVE.  But he also took me away for the night – unfortunately as we are without a sitter for Tabitha she came too:

Not that I mind really. She’s such a good girl and is as cute as a button:

We stayed in a hotel in Kent and as we’d just dropped the boys off for the weekend with their Dad we didn’t have time to grab anything to eat.  But there was room service.  Isn’t there just something wonderful about ordering a whole load of food and eating it on your bed?  It’s like smuggling food to your bedroom when you’re a kid but only better because now you can have beer ;-)

Our venture into Kent was because I’ve been wanting to go to Chartwell, Winston Churchill’s old house.  It’s beautiful but I can’t show you the inside where there is a rather fantastic Monet because they don’t let you take snaps.

And how do you keep a toddler from creating havoc in a historic house?  Just give her a leaflet!
