I’ve never really been into Christmas, even as a child it was all about the presents rather than the sentiment behind the day. As a teenager it became all about eating way, way too much and sneakily trying to consume as much alcohol as I could without getting busted. I was the one everyone shouted ‘bah humbug’ at because I never wanted decorations up and I couldn’t wait for them to be taken down.
As I’ve gotten older I don’t mind Christmas (I still don’t like the decorations though) . We only give gifts to the boys who want to keep that part of Christmas. Luckily they don’t want me to buy presents anymore – they just want the money. And we bought Tabitha an animal play set for Yule.
They’re not too fond of the traditional dinner too which suits me just fine – yesterday we had Fajitas followed by Christmas Pudding with brandy cream. Everyone enjoyed the food and that made me really happy
Now things can return to normal and I’m excited about welcoming the light back for Spring instead of concerning myself with shopping in over crowded malls or supermarkets and spending half a day looking for a parking space.
I look forward to the Sabbats and I constantly am in awe of the beautiful Luna but I’m going to celebrate every day. Not just a few times a year but each day because I’m grateful for the wonderful world I live in and the special people who touch my life with love.
I think we sometimes forget the magnificence of just being here!

I like this idea – celebrate every day!I love the special days, and I love celebrating them, but every day needs to be honored with respet.
It’s been going over in my mind about celebrating every day – I’m going to try and do it for 2010. Even if it’s just a little thing like lighting a thankful candle or doing a random act of kindness. Anyone else up for a celebrating challenge?

I couldn’t agree with you more!
I too, am enjoying the returning of the light. I can tell already in the mornings, that it comes a bit earlier every day. I am ready for it!
