Tired eyes and car claim

I have been having a doozy of a time today.  All the wonderful things I had planned got shelved and I had to focus on filing a court claim instead.  I’ve never had to do this before and, although it’s not particularly difficult, it is really time consuming.

The UK government has an online system where you can file a claim for the county court and that saves you writing the paper work in triplicate (I kid you not).  It’s a bit like Twitter in so much as it only gives you 1080 characters to give details of your claim AND that’s the hard part.  My first statement was over double the limit and I had to re-write, then re-write and re-write some more.  Finally I got to what I wanted to express (without any swear words) but it took all afternoon.

The claim is about the time my car broke down in Basingstoke and 3 mechanics all agree it was caused by a faulty service.  That was gettting on for 2 months ago now.  Yesterday the garage offered to pay the cost of the repair but not the travel expenses associated with it (which is about £90).  And today they agreed to pay nothing.

I just had enough.  It was taking up too much of my energy going back and forth, getting nowhere.  It’s all the in the hands of the Goddess and the courts now.

Whether I win or lose at least I’ve tried my best, done everything I possibly can and will never, ever use or recommend the garage again.
