Waiting, walking then waiting some more

My car is still in the garage at Basingstoke.

Nothing has been done because the garage where I had the service done won’t take responsibility for either their mechanic making a mistake or using faulty parts (which are still under guarantee).  I’ve spent the last 3 days waiting for phone calls from one garage or another.  As the quote for the repair is £900 I’m eager to see justice done and the garage make good.  I’ve already had to hire a car for this weekend as I’ve got to drop the boys off at Guildford to see their Dad.

So while I’m waiting for people to call me back (which they don’t seem to be able to do) I’m walking everywhere.  OMG do my feet ache.  I like to walk, and I thought we walked quite a bit, but according to my feet that isn’t the case.

And to make things worse, Tabitha is teething again.  She’s a streaming snot ball who doesn’t sleep.  Which means I don’t sleep.  The new school year has, as expected, meant the boys have brought colds home with them.  They’re competing with Tabitha for the title of ‘snottiest kid’ but, frankly, they don’t stand a chance.

In the middle of all this waiting for phone calls and walking to supermarkets we celebrated Mabon.  Actually, I was a bit sneaky this year and we had our celebration meal on Monday (I know, bad witch, equinox was Tuesday!).  This turned out to work to our advantage because yesterday was spent on foot.  Many times.  To many places.

For Mabon, I made a chicken, vegetable and apple casserole served with roast potatoes.  Then we had a spiced peach and pear crumble with custard for pudding.  We lit candles, said our thanks and gratitudes for all we have.  And, although I sometimes grumble, we do have much to be thankful for :-)
