Homegrown Gargoyle

In between all of my walking, waiting, telephone calling and being uber-organised I finished my gargoyle.  Well, actually it’s a grotesque.  It’s taken me about 6 weeks to make from start to finish although most of that was waiting for the lump of clay to dry.

It started as a sketch:

Then I realised my clay skills were not as advanced (i.e. non existent) as I’d thought.  I couldn’t work out how to do wings and arms and a pentacle.  But here he is all made:

Now, for the behind shot.  He stayed in front of my kitchen altar whilst drying:

I borrowed some paint from #2son and added a little glitter for the wings:

Warning – this extreme close up highlights my dodgy painting:

His name is Bram.  After Stoker.  Because the badge on my handbag says it all:

I heart vampires
